Tough news for Pirates of the Caribbean fans, it looks as if Orlando Bloom will not be returning to the series’ fourth installment whenever they decide to move forward with it.
When asked about his character, Will Turner, he explained; “Will’s swimming with the fishes.” When asked if he would come back, Bloom replied, “Not this time. No. No. No.”
But never fear Bloomers, There is one role old Lando does want to reprise, and thats the of the wood elf, Legolas from Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Peter Jackson is hard at work writing a 2 part prequel to Lord of the Rings, adapting The Hobbit into a screenplay that will be directed by Guillermo Del Toro. The first is expected to arrive in 2012.
During a recent chat with MTVnews.com Bloom explained; “I shot an email to Pete and I said, ‘You know, if you want me to don the blond wig and pointy ears again, I’d be honored to do it.’ He said – funnily enough – ‘Well, we’ll see’. They’re very, very hush-hush.”
Of Del Toro, Bloom admits he is a big fan saying; “It’s Guillermo’s movie and I’m a huge fan of that man. He’s obviously going to take his own idea of it, but I’m excited for that movie. I think it’s going to be great.”
To all you book worms out there…Is Legolas even in The Hobbit? Or would this be a total write in to the story?
