For the first time in over 18 years, Brett Favre will not be starting an NFL football game for his team.
Favre’s streak will end at 297 consecutive starts when the Minnesota Vikings play the New York Giants in Detroit, Michigan.
Brett was injured during play last week, and is listed on the team’s inactive list.
As for his record? The closest player to 297 is Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning, who has started in 205 consecutive games since coming into the NFL. If Peyton was able to make it to the Superbowl every year from here on out, he could possibly pass Brett’s record in 4.5-6 years.
The likelihood off that is that he’s probably going to have to play another 8 years, which would put him at his 20th year in the league.
The question is… Will Brett Favre return again? Or is this truly the end now?
