Christina Aguilera pulled the ultimate ‘oops’ last night, by flubbing the lyrics to the national anthem at the Super Bowl.
With 100,000 sets of eyes on her at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas and millions of people watching around the world, Christina belted out “what so proudly we watched” instead of “o’er the ramparts we watched” but kept it cool and finished the song without any indication of her mess up.
Christina has spoken out about the mess up in a statement, saying, “I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.”
It wasn’t Aguilera’s first time performing the national anthem, but her first at a Super Bowl.
She’s not the first and won’t be the last to mess up the national anthem….
She not only messed it up she SUCKED at singing it. If you can’t sing that song correctly you have NO business singing it at all.
