Rihanna is making pop chart history, when her latest single, ‘S&M’ takes the top spot on the Hot 100 this Thursday.
‘S&M’ will be Rihanna’s 10th number one single on the Hot 100, and she’s the fastest solo artist to get there!
It took her only four years and eleven months to reach the feat, which was reached in five years and four months by her closest competitor, Mariah Carey.
Only to be beaten by ‘The Beatles,’ and ‘The Supremes,’ who did it in under three years, Rihanna dethrones her fiend, Katy Perry, who’s latest single featuring Kanye West, ‘E.T.’ has spent the last three weeks at number one.
We can’t wait to see how long it takes Lady Gaga to be there, with her latest single, ‘Judas,’ breaking into the top ten at number ten this week as well.
I don’t understand why she gets all these number 1 singles, but can’t get a number 1 album and her record sales are below someone with 10 number 1’s standards. If these record companies and managers don’t stop with all of this payola im gonna call the FBI and let’s not forget most all her number ones happens to be collaborations. These days record companies and mangers will do what ever it takes to get a number 1 why not consentrate on having longevity in music industry with classic music say like they did in the 80″s.
Congrats to her!!! #1 album doesn’t translate of album sales! People selling 40,000 units and having the #1 album in the country!!! Rihanna’s album sales are fine! 2 of her #1s are features and 2 have rappers featured on her song! Jay-Z didn’t make Umbrella hot and Drake definitely didn’t make What’s My Name a hot track!!! No one is paying for these hits except the consumer public and radio stations that can’t get enough of Rihanna!!!:-*
