Adam Levine is the latest musician suing video game company Activision over the use of his likeness.
Levine did sign off on the use of his band’s single, ‘She Will Be Loved’ to be in the game, but that’s not the issue.
Levine also signed on for the company to record a performance of him singing the song to use his movements for an avatar in the game, but that is also not the problem.
The game has allowed Levine’s avatar to perform tracks by other artist in the game, and in his suit he claims there are songs that “would not have been chosen by him for recordings or performances.”
TheWrap.com is reporting that Levine is suing for fraudulent inducement, breach of contract, violation of the common-law right of publicity and unfair business acts or practices. He’s seeking unspecified damages.
Gwen Stefani and Axel Rose have filed similar suits of their own since the game’s release.
