Want to go on a date with Denise Richards and help cancer all at the same time?
Here’s your chance.
Denise Richards has posted a new contest on her site where she will fly a guest out to Hollywood for a lunch date with her and a chance to help promote the Kidney Cancer Association.
Richards lost her mom, Joni, to kidney cancer back in 2007, and has been an advocate ever since.
In a post to her blog she writes,
“There is not a day that goes by since my mother’s passing from kidney cancer that I don’t think of her. I try my best to honor her memory by telling my children stories about what a wonderful woman and mother she was to me. Another part of honoring her memory is supporting the fight against the disease…
“Now here’s your chance to help. I created a contest in conjunction with the KCA to promote awareness about the disease and help start a conversation about prevention and warning signs. The winner will get the chance to fly out to Hollywood where we’ll chat and have lunch together.”
Contestants must film a 60-second clip explaining how cancer has affected their lives and submit videos to LunchWithDenise.com.
As a kidney cancer survivor, I am so proud of you, Denise, for working to bring awareness to a little known cancer. It devastates so many lives, even if you survive it, your life is changed forever. My health has not been the same, as hard as I try. I know I survived in order to raise awareness and in my own small way, that is what I am doing. Thank you so much for what you are doing on a much larger scale. God Bless You!
