Ron Howard is just one of the many stars remembering the greatness of Andy Griffith, but he is one of the stars who has known the actor the longest.
Howard appeared as Opie Taylor on ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ from 1960 to 1968 as Griffith’s young son, and took to his Twitter page to remember his former on screen dad.
He writes; “His pursuit of excellence and the joy he took in creating served generations & shaped my life. I’m forever grateful. RIP Andy.”
Griffith died this morning in North Carolina at the age of 86.
