Lady Gaga has a new lawsuit coming her way, from bosses at a toy company who were licensed to make a doll of her likeness.
Gaga and her licensing companies are being sued for $10 million by executives at MGA Entertainment for an alleged break of contract, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
The suit claims that Gaga requested the removal of a voice chip from the doll, which put the company under pressure when aiming to meet the deadline for retailers.
Originally hoping to have the dolls released in time for Christmas, the company claims that the singer and her team “engaged in intentional and deliberate delays” to stop the toy from being released until 2013.
Gaga received a $1 million dollar advance for the manufacturing of the doll, and are now petitioning to release the doll as soon as possible. A spokesperson for Gaga has responded to the New York Daily News, saying; “Lady Gaga will vigorously defend MGA’s ill-conceived lawsuit and is confident that she will prevail… There was no legitimate reason for dragging Lady Gaga into that dispute.”
