Dave Matthews Band have decided to turn the first stop on their winter tour into a benefit concert to help the victims hit hard by Hurricane Sandy.
DMB will kick the tour off at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey on November 30, and the group has pledged to donate the evening’s ticket and merchandise sales to the Bama Works Sandy Relief Fund.
According to the AP, estimates put the donation around $1 million dollars.
In addition to DMB, Carrie Underwood is handing over the funds from her Atlantic City gig on Friday night to help rebuild the city as well.
It’s great to see musicians helping out the best way they can, by rallying the fan base in support.
