Bruce Willis has made the generous contribution of an entire ski resort to the citizens of Fairfield, Idaho.
Willis and Demi Moore once owned a home, a bar, a theater, and a ski resort in Idaho during their marriage. More than $20 million dollars worth of real estate that was their getaway from their daily Hollywood lives.
Following the divorce, Willis still owned the bar and theater in Hailey, Idaho, as well as the ski resort in Fairfield.
In April he put the house and the bar up for sale, and was hoping to sell the ski resort as well. But after some consideration, he decided to donate it to the citizens of Fairfield.
Willis said in a press release to the Idaho Statesman, “I couldn’t be more pleased with the organization that will be responsible for the management of Soldier Mountain Ski Area,” “It was exciting to see that the very people who ski at Soldier care so much about its future. I wish them the very best.”
A nonprofit group of locals has formed to take over the mountain, which was discussed during an April town hall meeting with Willis in attendance.
Justin Nyquist, the leader of the group said in a statement,
“Soldier Mountain is the pride of Fairfield,” Nyquist told the Idaho Mountain Express. “The new owners want to keep it that way. This community meeting is a chance to lay out the ownership change to the town and offer residents an opportunity to ask questions.”
