Lindsay Lohan was arrested last night in NYC on suspicion of assaulting a woman at a nightclub.
Lohan was detained by police in the early hours of Thursday morning after allegedly punching the woman in the face at the Manhattin night club Avenue. She went to the club after attending Justin Bieber’s ‘Believe’ tour stop at Madison Square Garden.
Lohan reportedly refused medical treatment at the scene, and was taken to a local police station where she was booked on a third-degree misdemeanor assault charge.
NYPD Sergeant John Buthorn has revealed that the unnamed victim, a 28-year-old woman only sustained “minor, minor injuries.” An NYPD spokesperson confirmed in a statement, “(Lohan was) involved in some type of dispute (inside the nightclub). She struck another female patron in the face and was arrested a short time later outside the club.”
This latest dust up with the law could cost Lindsay to spend some time in jail, as she is still on probation from the infamous shoplifting case from a year ago. This also follows a September arrest in NYC when a man claimed Lohan hit him with her car, (dropped due to insufficient evidence) and an incident later in the month where she accused a man of assaulting her in her New York hotel room. (also dropped)
Add that to the troubles she’s facing back in LA over an automobile accident in which she lied to police and claimed she was not driving, and she could be locked up for some time.
Lohan was released around 7:30 AM and given orders to attend a court hearing scheduled for a later date.
