Black Friday turned deadly for a Wal Mart employee who was trampled by over 200 customers who were stampeding through the store to get that hot item on their x-mas list.
The 34-year-old stock room employee was trying to calm down the hoard of shoppers, who had busted the doors off of the hinges to get into the stoor.
Fellow employee Jimmy Overby had this to say about the incident; “He was bum-rushed by 200 people. They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too…I literally had to fight people off my back.”
Other shoppers at the scene say that many people continued to run by without any caution while emergency crews worked to save the clerk, and people were still shopping frantically without a care until police shut the store down.
Apparently, a pregnant lady was also knocked over by the careless shoppers who were in a race to get their must haves at a lower price.
So when are stores going to start coming up with a new system besides just unlocking he doors to avoid instances like this. I’m sure stores make tons of money today and enjoy offering unbeatable deals for a few hours, but there’s no reason you can’t keep things going in an orderly fashion.
